Our Samband has been sponsoring an annual Stevne since 1899 held most years except during World Wars and now because of the pandemic. You can see a list of the first 100 years of Stevne on our website.

A stevne (stev-neh) is a time to get together with others who are interested in the history, culture, crafts, and food of the Valdres Valley of Norway. A Norwegian word, it means reunion, gathering or convention.  A typical weekend includes lectures and presentations, bus tours, genealogy classes, meals and entertainment. You can read some of our past Stevne reports to get a sense of what happens during a typical weekend. Occasionally we combine our Stevne with another lag and most are held in the US midwest. We have had a couple in Norway.

We will post upcoming events as they are planned on this page. Also join our Facebook group where we also post events such as our virtual Stevne.
